In a genre populated with stage names such as Drake, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and Pitbull, Doug Crawford isn’t the most hip-hop of handles. Neither is Peter Jackson. Luckily, their names haven’t held them back.
Crawford is a bit of a weirdo for another reason. He was born in Los Angeles, but now lives in Edmonton. He’s promoting his latest album, One Day At A Time, and is about to tour through the U.S. with Eminem’s pals, D12, in September. (Dates in Europe and Australia are also forthcoming.) I Don’t Mean It, posted above, is the first single.
Jackson, who resides in Oshawa, Ont., will open for ’90s hip-hop act, Digable Planets, on Saturday, June 25 at The Starlite Room. Tickets are $21.25 plus service charges at Prime Box Office. His latest album, In My Life, features collaborations with Naughty By Nature, Sizzla, and Die Mannequin.
